About PharmDiva

Several years ago, the South Carolina Pharmacy Association was determined to develop a new and innovative event for the rapidly-increasing female demographic in the profession of pharmacy.  While the majority of new pharmacists were female, Association activities still seemed to orient towards stereotypically male events (golf tournaments). 

SCPhA wanted to embrace this change, thus the Association created the Southeastern "Girls of Pharmacy" Leadership Weekend (www.spaweekend.org).  This exciting event featuring female-focused CE and events has grown into a regional event, hosted annually at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC. 

Throughout the years, SCPhA has spearheaded this event and has continually sought new and creative ways to keep the excitement going.  In 2008, SCPhA had a brainstorm to truly embrace the spirit of the event - the creation of the PharmDiva tag line and logo. 

At the 2008 event, shirts were pre-sold with the design.  SCPhA quickly sold out of the shirts on site and had to take additional orders after the event.  The demand has increased as the word has spread about the design.  Even non-pharmacy professionals love the design and always ask about it!

SCPhA coordinates the PharmDiva efforts through maintaining the website, merchandise, and design of the line, but encourages pharmacy professionals across the nation to sport their PharmDiva pride!

PharmDiva is trademarked by the SCPhA and pending registration.
